Forus Tree are a worker's co-operative, a not-for-profit social enterprise with a focus on managing the environment in the Calder Valley and beyond.

With over 20 years of tree planting experience, our aim is to mitigate the effects of climate change and restore biodiversity

We aspire to share skills and knowledge within our community, bringing people together to enjoy Yorkshire's great countryside and maximising the positive impact of our collective contributions towards a more sustainable future

Himalayan Balsam Control

Himalayan Balsam is an invasive non-native plant species which has a negative impact our native flora/fauna and biodiversity.Read More »

Tree Planting

We use sustainable, natural methods to plant our trees and shrubs. We cultivate manually, to maximise the positive impacts.Read More »

Leaky Dams

Construction of timber leaky dams and willow revetments for natural flood management NFM during heavy rainfall.Read More »

Fencing

Protecting tree planting sites from livestock and deer to allow for establishment, habitat creation and conservation.Read More »

Hedging

Planting over 1km of new hedging every year to connect existing woodlands, create wildlife corridors and improve biodiversity.Read More »

Erosion Control

We work with local landowners to address erosion caused by heavy rainfall. Trees perform remarkably when established.Read More »

Daisy Bank

Photos from our community tree nursery at Daisy Bank. We have a volunteer meetup every Friday and enjoy looking after our young trees together as we share knowledge and time in the great Yorkshire countryside. We always welcome new people, why not come along?
